Because of its high palatability, intakes on this feed can average 3,4% of a steer’s live mass per day and average daily gain at 350kg live mass is about 1,6kg. Because little or no adaptation period with extra roughage is necessary 18 month old steers weighing 350kg can usually be finished within 80 days.
